Registration

Register for Mobile Banking

Before you begin:

a) Call us at 1-888-310-4722 or call the number on the back of your bank card

b) Let us know if your email or mobile number has changed

c) Take note of the registration numbers we give you

 

To register:

  1. Download the HSBC Canada Mobile Banking app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Launch the app.
  3. Select ‘Not registered for online banking’.
  4. Read and accept the terms and conditions, and consent to go paperless.
  5. Enter your Bank Card Number or your Electronic Banking Number.
  6. Enter the online registration code we sent you.
  7. Create a username.
  8. Create an Online Banking password.
  9. Choose a security question and provide an answer.

 

You’re now registered for both Mobile Banking and Online Banking. Enter your new username and Online Banking password to activate your Digital Security Device.

 

Note: Your Online Banking password is different than your Digital Security Device password. Memorize both!

Register for Online Banking

Before you begin:

a) Call us at 1-888-310-4722 or call the number on the back of your bank card

b) Let us know if your email or mobile number has changed

c) Take note of the registration numbers we give you

 

To register:

  1. Go to hsbc.ca/registernow.
  2. Read and accept the terms and conditions and consent to go paperless.
  3. Enter your Bank Card Number or your Electronic Banking Number.
  4. Enter the online registration code we sent you.
  5. Create a username.
  6. Create an Online Banking password.
  7. Choose a security question and provide an answer.
  8. Select a Digital Security Device and take note of the validation code you’ll need to activate it.

 

You’re now registered for Online Banking. Don’t forget to activate your Digital Security Device.

Activate a Digital Security Device

  1. Download the HSBC Canada Mobile Banking app from the App Store or Google Play  – if you don’t already have it.
  2. Launch the app.
  3. Log on with your username and Online Banking password.
  4. You may be prompted to activate your device now. If not, select ‘Profile’ > ‘Security’
  5. Select ‘Activate Digital Security Device’
  6. Enter the validation code if you have it. If not, choose a method to receive it. If you choose to get this first code by email, you’ll get the next one by text. If you choose text for the first code, you’ll get the second one by email.
  7. Enter the second (activation) code.
  8. Create your new Digital Security Device password – this is different from your Online Banking password.

 

Your Digital Security Device is now set up! Consider enabling face or fingerprint ID, so you can log on instantly instead of having to enter your password.
